Tamannaah was once one of the most dominant heroines in Tollywood. She started her career as a teenager and remained a top heroine for more than a decade. Recently, she also completed 20 years as a lead actress in the industry. Staying relevant for so long itself is a big achievement.
However, in the last few years Tamannaah has mostly been doing special songs and films in other languages. Opportunities in Telugu cinema have reduced significantly. She was last seen opposite Chiranjeevi in Bhola Shankar and later appeared in a key role in Odela 2, but she has not been part of any major commercial Telugu film recently.
If the latest reports are true, Tamannaah might be getting an interesting opportunity now. She is said to be playing a key role in Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Irumudi. Tamil actress Priya Bhavani Shankar is already playing the female lead as Ravi Teja’s wife, while Tamannaah will reportedly appear in another important character that plays a crucial role in the story.
Tamannaah earlier worked with Ravi Teja in Bengal Tiger where she played a glamorous role. This time, the role is said to be more performance oriented.
Irumudi is being directed by Shiva Nirvana, known for films like Ninnu Kori and Majili. The film reportedly has a devotional backdrop with Ravi Teja appearing as a middle class man who takes up the Ayyappa mala.
Interestingly, if this report is true, the role may not be very easy for Tamannaah. In recent times she has been doing glamorous roles in Bollywood. With Irumudi being a devotional themed film, she may need to overshadow that glamour image this time. But considering Tamannaah is a capable performer, it may not be a tough task for her.
