Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the most loved comedy TV show. It has a huge fan following and people have been talking a lot about all the controversies that happened. We saw in 2023, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal filed a sexual harassment complain against Asit Kumarr Modi and his team. She went out and filed an FIR. After that, we saw Monika Bhadoriya, Priya Ahuja Rajda supported her. Later, Neha Mehta, Shailesh Lodha also left the show and spoke about their payments being stopped by the producer. Recently, Palak Sidhwani also left the show and spoke about how the makers created issues for her as she wanted to leave the show.

All these controversies have turned many people negative about the show. This is the longest running serial on television. We all love the characters in the show. Jethalal and Dayaben are the most loved characters. Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani made it everyone’s favourite. However, Dayaben aka Disha has been missing from the show ever since she went on a maternity leave.

She went for the leave in 2017 and has not yet returned. Everyone is eagerly waiting for her to return to the show. She has been amazing and people do not wish to see any other actress as Daya. Asit Kumarr Modi said that he has been trying to get her back. He also said that if Disha does not return, he will bring in another actress as Daya.

Now, the producer spoke to News 18 ShowSha and confirmed that Disha Vakani will not return to as Daya. He said that is very important to bring back Dayaben because he also misses her. He shared that sometimes circumstances change in such a way that certain things happen and it gets delayed.

He said that there were elections in 2024, there was IPL and then the World Cup matches, the rainy season and hence it got delayed. He added that he is trying to get Disha back but Disha Vakani can’t be back as has two children. He further said, “She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also a family to me. You worked together for 17 years, and it became your extended family.”

He shared that it is difficult for Disha now as for women, life changes after marriage and working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. However, he is still hopeful. He feels somewhere that God will do some miracle and she will return.

Asit Kumarr Modi also said that if Disha returns, it would be good or else he has to find a new actress to play Dayaben in the show. He said that they will plan a grand welcome for Dayaben.
