In an interview with ABP News, was quoted saying, “Maybe I am ‘sasti’ because I don’t get paid as much as . If being called a copy of such a talented actress is the case, I am okay with it.” She also added that a person’s words reflect their upbringing and personality. She added that she can never say such things about any woman who ‘has carved her own journey’.
For the unaverse, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel called Taapsee Pannu a ‘sasti copy’ on social media after the Thappad actress praised the trailer of Judgmentall Hai Kya. She missed mentioning Kangana Ranaut in the post and that led to Rangoli’s fiery response. Rangoli in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), reportedly wrote, “Kuch log Kangana ko copy kar ke he apni dukaan chalate hain, magar pls note, they never acknowledge her, not even a mention of her name in praising the trailer. Last I heard, Taapsee ji said Kangana needs a double filter, and Taapsee ji, you need to stop being a sasti copy.” Even back then, Taapsee refrained from engaging into any sort of a spat and opting for a dignified response.
