During the recently held trailer launch, shared his thoughts on why Bollywood producers can learn a lot from their counterparts in Hyderabad. In a recent interview, the Jaat actor showed no qualms in saying that Hindi filmmakers often lack the conviction and passion that can be easily seen in South Indian directors. While chatting with a film trade analyst, Sunny explained that the South Indian film industry has grown significantly by drawing inspiration from Bollywood.
Sunny Deol also highlighted the fact that Hindi film industry hasn’t producing movies with the same passion that was seen earlier. The actor firmly believes that not just filmmakers, but also producers and writers lack the same ‘belief’. “South ke log humse seekhke aage badhte gaye hain (South Indian film industry kept progressing by learning from us) and they have progressed so much technically and in every aspect. They are making a picture for the audience, not for a selected audience,” Sunny had said while speaking to Komal Nahta.
The actor was also quick to state that when Bollywood take up South films for remakes, it becomes a successful business. “This means that somewhere, our creators, producers, writers, and directors no longer have the same passion and belief. Because belief is the story—it is the hero of the film, and the person who brings it to life is the director. If we believe in both these aspects, we should work accordingly,” he added.
For the unversed, Sunny will soon be seen in Jaat, which has been directed by Gopichand Malineni. Going by the reports, Jaat is expected to rake in Rs 10 crore at the box office on the day of its release. Going by the impact that the trailer left on the viewers, the action thriller can be successful film, courtesy an interesting blend of a powerful narrative, high-octane action sequences and dramatic dialogues. Jaat being backed by Mythri Movie Makers, which are also responsible for the historical successful run of Pushpa 2: The Rule last year.
