Bollywood actress got married to in June 2024 in an intimate affair that was attended by family and close friends. Her brothers, Luv and Kush, were noticeably absent from her celebrations and this sparked speculation about tensions between the siblings.

In an interview with Hautterfly, Sonakshi spoke out about her relationship with siblings Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. She stated that they were not only jealous of her. Yes, you read that right! She said, “Main sabse choti, ghar ki ladki, sabse laadli, toh bhaiyonn ko jalan toh hoti thi toh mujhe padti thi (I was the youngest child, the daughter of the house, so I was the most adored. My brothers used to be jealous of me and would beat me up).”

Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha had also spoken about his sons Luv and Kush Sinha not attending Sonakshi’s wedding in an interview with Retro Lehren. He said, “I won’t complain. They may still not be so mature. I do understand their pain and confusion. There is always a cultural reaction. Maybe, if I was their age, I might have had a similar reaction to it. But, here is where your maturity, seniority, and experience come in place. Hence, my reaction was not as extreme as my sons.”

However, Luv slammed reports of him not attending Sonakshi’s wedding and said, “Why I chose not to attend. Running an online campaign against me on a false premise won’t change the fact that for me, my family will always come first”.

During the same interview, Sonakshi revealed that neither she nor her husband Zaheer ever forced their respective religion on each other. She said, “We were not looking at religion. We are two people in love who wanted to get married, and that’s exactly what we did. He is not enforcing his religion on me. I am not enforcing my religion on him. We never discussed anything about religion. We don’t sit and talk. We appreciate and understand each other’s cultures. They follow certain traditions at their home. I follow certain traditions at my house…I respect them and their culture. They respect me and my entire family. That’s how it should be”.

Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years before saying ‘I do’ in a civil marriage ceremony at the former’s home in Bandra, Mumbai.
