Nearly one and a half months after announcing Class 10 and 12 board results, the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Friday declared the names of the top ten rank-holders for Class 10 and 12 examinations. A total of 25 students secured the top ten positions in the Class 10 examinations while 20 students found themselves in the top ten in the Class 12 examinations.
had announced the results of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations on April 30, with 86.53% and 79.29% pass percentage, respectively.
Board president Dr Dhananjoy Gan Choudhury said Joydip Rudra Paul from PM Shri Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial Higher Secondary School bagged the first position in the Class 12 examination by scoring a total of 493 marks in Humanities. Later, announcing the toppers in Class 10, TBSE secretary Dr Dulal Dey stated that Antariksha Paul from Belonia Vidyapith Higher Secondary School secured the first position by scoring 490 marks.
The merit list was announced after the review and self-inspection process of answer scripts were over. The state education board has been withholding announcing its top ten merit list at the time of declaring for two years now, since the top ten ranks often tended to change dramatically after the review process.
“Evaluations of the examination copies were completed on April 22 and results of both Class 10 and 12 were announced on April 30. Now the pass percentage of Class 10 is above 87% and 81% for Class 12,” said Choudhury at the TBSE office on Friday.
He said the second position in the Class 12 examination was bagged by Saptadipa Nath from PM Shri Dharmanagar Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School. She scored 492 marks in the Science stream. Eshita Sen from PM Shri Jolaibari MM Girls’ Higher Secondary School and Rakteem Debnath from Prachya Bharati Higher Secondary School jointly secured the third position, scoring a total of 490 marks in Humanities.
Tanusree Saha from Kalamchowra Higher Secondary School secured 489 marks in the Humanities stream to attain fourth position.
Anamika Debnath (Humanities) from Icharbil Higher Secondary School, Kriti Dey (Science) from Belonia Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Arnab Basak (Science) from Sabroom Higher Secondary School and Tapas Dey (Humanities) from PM Shri Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial Higher Secondary School scored total 488 marks to secure fifth position.
Trisha Das, student of Humanities from Palatana Higher Secondary School, got a total of 487 marks and attained sixth position.
Swarnali Debnath (Science) from PM Shri Dharmanagar Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Trisha Paul (Humanities) from Hrishyamukh Higher Secondary School and Taniya Khatun (Humanities) from Lakshmicherra Ramkrishna Higher Secondary School got a total of 486 marks to attain seventh position.
Deepa Sarkar from Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Higher Secondary School, Mitu Nath from Avangchara Higher Secondary School, Reshmi Roy from Gandhigram Higher Secondary School and Munni Begam from PM Shri Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial Higher Secondary School got a total of 485 marks to secure eighth position. All of them are from the Humanities stream.
Debalina Debnath from Ganki Higher Secondary School and Karan Karmakar from PM Shri Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial Higher Secondary School bagged ninth position (484 marks, Humanities). Priya Saha from Shalgara Higher Secondary School bagged the tenth position (483 marks, Humanities).
TBSE secretary Dey said that among Class 10 students, the second position was bagged by Ramkrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir’s Indrani Bhowmik who scored 489. Sumit Debnath from Vivekananda Shishu Niketan and Amit Das from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan jointly bagged the third position with 488 marks.
Deepjoy Paul from Mirza Higher Secondary School secured the fourth position (486 marks). The fifth position was attained by Anirban Debnath from Panisagar Holy Cross School, Eyesh Datta from Satchand Higher Secondary School, Bishal Sen from Pilak Public School, Adrit Ghosh from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan and Tulika Chaudhury from Shankaracharya Vidyayatan Girls School (485 marks).
Priyam Debnath from Tulamura Higher Secondary School, Susmita Dey from Brintak Siksha Niketan and Deepshikha Karmakar from Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School secured sixth position (484 marks). Debajit Sarkar from Ananda Marga High School secured the seventh position (483 marks).
Bithi Singha from PM Shri Baidyardighi Higher Secondary School, Dipjoy Sutradhar from Vivekananda Shishu Niketan, Kornili Debbarma from Tipprah Academy and Debi Sen from PM Shri Sekerkote Higher Secondary School bagged the eighth position (482 marks).
Drishti Debnath and Mrinmayee Deb from Vivekananda Shishu Niketan and Anwesha Biswas from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan were in the ninth position (481 marks).
Anuska Rudra Pal from PM Shri Dharmanagar Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Amartya Das and Hrishita Purkayastha from Tripureswari Sishu Tirtha and Anirban Chakraborty from Vivekananda Shishu Niketan secured the tenth position (480 marks).
Speaking about the ‘Bochhor Bachao’ (Save the Year) examination, Dey said that a total of 2,995 students of Class 12 are supposed to appear for the examination, and 1,851 forms were submitted while in the case of Class 10, a total of 3,155 students are slated to appear for the examination, and 1782 forms have been submitted till date.
“Today is the last date to submit forms for Bocchor Bachao examinations. After the submission of forms, we shall start processing. Bocchor Bachao examinations will begin from June 30,” said Dey.
A total of 29,670 candidates appeared in the Madhyamik examination this year, including 13,861 boys and 15,809 girls. The number of candidates who took the matriculation-level board examinations this year has decreased from 33,739 last year.
Among the 21,506 candidates who passed the higher secondary examination, 9,920 are boys and 11,586 are girls. Last year, 25,350 students appeared for the higher secondary examinations.
