Popular television actor Shoaib Ibrahim and his wife Dipika Kakar have found themselves at the center of controversy after they uploaded a travel vlog amid a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The tragic incident took place on April 22 which claimed 26 lives. The incident has left everyone shocked. Several celebrities have offered condolences and expressed grief over the same. Shoaib decided to post content during such a sensitive time and posted that netizens trolled him. Sasural Simar Ka actor had been vacationing in Kashmir with his wife Dipika. Shoaib uploaded a vlog detailing their journey and sharing updates about their safe return to Delhi. In the vlog, he did acknowledge the tragic incident but netizens felt the content leaned more toward promoting their travel experience.
Netizens slammed and called him out for what they described as poor timing and tone-deaf content. One user commented, “This was not the time to push out a vlog, no matter how many people were worried. A simple update would have sufficed.” Another commented, “He could’ve waited. Families are grieving. This feels more like content marketing than concern.”
Amid the backlash, an old tweet from has been going viral on social media. In it, he comforted a disappointed Pakistani fan in 2019. It made headlines in. The tweet was related to his film Battalion 609, which many thought was portraying Pakistan in a negative light. The fan expressed sadness over Shoaib participating in an anti-Pakistan project and said that she did not expect this from him. Shoaib had replied, “Paapi pet ke liye karna padta hai bhai… entertainment ko entertainment ke hisaab se dekhiye.”
