Sankranthiki Vastunnam is the first blockbuster of this year. Venkatesh played the lead role in the film, directed by Anil Ravipudi. Interestingly, the film grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide, making it one of the festival’s biggest hits. Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chowdhury played the female leads.
The film received immense love from audiences in theatres, leading to high anticipation for its OTT release. The film was released yesterday on both television and OTT. However, fans have been shocked by a surprising change—the film’s runtime has been reduced in its OTT version. While the theatrical release had a runtime of 2 hours and 24 minutes, the digital version is now only 2 hours and 16 minutes long, meaning nearly eight minutes of footage has been removed.
The unexpected edit has left fans disappointed, especially since there were rumors that the OTT version would include extra comedy scenes that had been trimmed from the theatrical release for pacing reasons. On the other hand, the TV version delighted the fans as they played the Godari Gattu Paina song twice to attract the audience.
Dil Raju bankrolled the project under Sri Venkateswara Creations.
