Recently, the actress spoke about menstruation and questioned why the topic is still not widely spoken about. Talking about periods being considered as a taboo subject, the actress shared that it is necessary to break the taboo and dated notions around periods.
To news agency IANS, said, “As women, we’ve come so far, yet conversations around period are still met with silence, whispers, and shame.” She also mentioned that there is nothing to be ashamed of periods as women cycles are ‘life-affirming’. She added, “Speaking with Rashi Choudhary reminded me how crucial it is it is to break these taboos and dated notions. Our cycles are powerful and, most importantly, life-affirming. Definitely not something to be ashamed of or hide or, for that matter, even taken lightly.”
This comes after the release of teaser of her podcast with nutritionist Rashi Choudhary. In the Take20 podcast, they spoke about about how periods impact a woman’s body. They also spoke about PMS, and syncing-cycles trend. The Citadel Honey Bunny emphasised that it is necessary for women to learn to listen to their body and keep learning. She also spoke about dealing with endometriosis and the challenges that come along especially for someone who is a public figure and always under spotlight, say reports. The actress also said, “The menstrual cycle and how it affects our mind and body is something we need to consistently keep learning about with every passing year.”
