Adipurush was one of the forgettable films in Indian cinema. Made with a budget of more than Rs. 600 crores, the film ended up as a disaster at the box office. Directed by Om Raut, this film featured Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Meanwhile, Saif’s recent statements about this movie sparked controversy on social media.
In one of his recent interviews, Saif said that he apologised to his son Taimur Ali Khan for making him watch the movie. However, he received flak for his statements, and a section of people on social media criticised him for the same. Now, Saif changed his words and clarified that he had apologised to his son for playing an evil character and not for making him watch the movie.
During one of the promotional events of his latest OTT release, Jewel Thief, Saif Ali Khan recalled the incident where he and Taimur were watching Adipurush and understood how bad it was. Saif added that his son looked as if to ask why he was being made to watch the film. “I understood the situation and quickly apologised to him,” said Saif.
After his statements went viral and sparked debate on social media, Saif changed his words and said that he had apologised to Taimur for playing an evil role in the movie. “I was growling and smashing everyone in sight. He told me to play the hero next time. I stand by all my films, and this one too,” he said.
