Saif Ali Khan was attacked at home in the wee hours of Thursday. Fans, media and the film fraternity woke up to this shocking news and now we have some more details of what actually happened at the actor’s residence. A source privy to the details tells Bollywood Life exclusively that the actor and his whole family, including wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and kids Taimur and Jeh, were at home when the attack happened.

“Saif, Kareena and kids were all at home. They were sleeping. There was no security since there were no shoots or travel planned for the night. The security personnel were to return only the next morning,” said the source.

“When Saif woke up and understood what was going on, he didn’t think twice and took on the robber. There was no time to waste as the family could have been in danger. He got injured in the scuffle and was immediately rushed to the hospital, ” revealed the source.

Saif’s team in their statement said, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter We will keep you updated on the situation.”

The robber reportedly fled from the scene after Saif and Kareena’s family members woke up.

The police and crime branch are both investigating the matter further while the actor recuperates at Lilavati hospital.
