An intruder entered Saif and house during the wee hours on January 16 with the clear intention of robbery. Saif attempted to stop the man and in the scuffle was attacked with the knife six times. The actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital and discharged last week. The Mumbai police arrested Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir in the case as the main accused.

When the Mumbai Police arrested Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, they informed the media that the man hails from Bangladesh. According to the cops, Shariful entered India illegally and worked as a housekeeper at a bar in Thane. Now, there’s a new big update on the attack case. The cops have arrested a woman from West Bengal in connection to the case.

As reported by PTI, Shariful was using a SIM card, which is registered under a woman’s name in West Bengal. On Sunday, a two-member team arrived in Bengal’s Nadia district to arrest a woman named Khukhumoni Jahangir Sheikh. About the same, a source from the West Bengal police told the news agency, “A woman was arrested by Mumbai Police from Chapra in Nadia district in the Saif Ali attack case. They may apply for transit remand to take her to Mumbai.”

The source further added, “Fakir had entered India illegally through the India-Bangladesh border near Siliguri in north Bengal and got in touch with this woman. She is actually a resident of Andulia in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal.”
