Aadhi Pinisetty is coming up with the unique horror and crime thriller Sabdham, directed by Arivazhagan. The film’s pre-release event was graced by Natural Star Nani.
Aadhi shared his thoughts, emphasizing Nani’s presence as crucial to the movie’s reach and success. He recalled working with Arivazhagan 16 years ago on Vaishali, a film that still resonates due to its honest storytelling. Aadhi expressed that when Arivazhagan approached him again with Sabdham, he couldn’t say no, and that the film would hold a special place in his heart, much like Vaishali.
He also highlighted the significance of sound in the film, with the title Sabdham itself underlining its importance. “The interval block perfectly justifies the title. Horror enthusiasts will appreciate it. If I had a remote and were asked to search for a movie on OTT, I’d pick a horror film after scrolling for 10 to 15 minutes. I hope horror fans will enjoy it.”
Nani, who considers Aadhi a part of his family, spoke about their long-standing bond. He mentioned that Aadhi often seeks his opinion on the teasers and trailers of his films, and praised Sabdham for its technical brilliance.
“Sabdham is technically unmatched among the films I’ve watched in recent times. There’s a scene in the film where the sound of a sugar cube dropping into a teacup is terrifying. When the sound is within a certain decibel limit, it’s fine, but when it crosses that limit, sound becomes a weapon, creating real danger.
Thaman’s music is exceptional, and I really enjoyed a couple of the songs. I also love the songs from Vaishali. The same team reunited for Sabdham, bringing another unique concept with their approach to sound. The film is gripping. There’s a flashback scene depicting Aadhi’s childhood, revealing the tragic fate of his mother, which is linked to the music of her son. I never expected to shed tears in a horror film, but that sequence was deeply emotional. I enjoy horror films that offer more than just scares, ones with a strong storyline. For horror lovers, this is a must-watch, and for those who are easily frightened, it’s even more thrilling to watch with friends.
Sabdham is set to release on the 28th of this month.
