The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Officers Association has submitted a letter to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, demanding disciplinary action against Jaisalmer Collector Pratap Singh. The association has accused the Collector of mistreating RAS officers and has called for his removal, warning of a potential strike if the demand is not met.
This action follows a formal complaint lodged by Prabhjot Singh Gill, former Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Pokhran. On May 7, 2025, Gill wrote to the Chief Secretary, alleging misconduct by Collector Pratap Singh. In his complaint, Gill highlighted two major concerns: firstly, that the Collector directed him to drop multiple complaints filed against NS Finance, a moneylending firm owned by one Devender Singh; and secondly, that he was pressured to ignore a dispute involving Apravada Solar Company and local farmers in the Sankra region. Gill claimed that when he attempted to intervene in the matter, the Collector threatened to strip him of his magisterial authority.
When approached by , an assistant from Collector Singh’s office stated that the officer would not comment on the matter unless an official complaint was filed or a government inquiry was initiated.
Gill had earlier posted a detailed account of the allegations on , which he subsequently deleted. The RAS Officers Association has since publicly backed Gill, citing broader concerns about the Collector’s behavior. In their letter, they have accused Pratap Singh of routinely treating RAS officers with disrespect and coercing them to act against established procedures.
The letter also notes that Gill was transferred to Mundwa (Nagaur) as SDM on May 8, a day after filing the complaint. It further claims that from the outset of Gill’s posting in Pokhran, the Collector demonstrated a hostile attitude and made inappropriate remarks toward him in his official capacity.
The association has urged the state government to act, stating that failure to address the issue could lead to a collective boycott of duties by RAS officers across the state.
