But now the actress has issued a clarification.
As reported by Times of India, has denied all the allegations of Rs 18 crore loan being written-off. Through her legal team, Preity Zinta shared that her account with the bank is closed. Her statement read, “More than 12 years ago, I had an overdraft facility with New India Cooperative Bank. More than 10 years ago, I fully repaid all the dues in respect of this overdraft facility and the account has been closed.”
Meanwhile, even on X (formerly known as Twitter), Preity Zinta made a post addressing the reports. She clarified that the loan was fully paid back over 10 years.

As per the reports, the bank sanctioned almost Rs 25 crore worth loans without the knowledge of the branch manager. Many of these loans then allegedly turned into non-performing assets due to fund diversion. Among the high-profile cases, was that of an alleged loan of Rs 18 crore given to Preity Zinta. The report also claimed that the loan was taken without following proper recovery procedures. However, the actress has clarified on the rumours and set the records straight.
