Versatile actor Prakash Raj is popular across the country not just for his successful acting career in multiple languages but also for his tryst with controversies, which often puts him in the media spotlight. He cultivated a habit to poke his nose into sensitive issues and spark needless controversies with his indirect jibes.
Recently, Prakash Raj triggered a massive debate when he took a dig at the portrayal of ‘forced beef eating’ scene in the trailer of The Kerala Story 2. There was huge backlash on Prakash Raj at that time for his selective criticism only on a few movies which present hard facts to the public. Even before the dust around this issue has settled, Prakash Raj has again ignited another debate with his controversial post on social media platform.
When the entire nation is going gaga over the latest Bollywood release, Dhurandhar 2, it is quite expected from big stars of Tollywood to come forward and share their genuine appreciation towards the Ranveer Singh starrer due to their selflessness and kind hearted nature.
Top league actors like NTR, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu appreciated the content and expressed their excitement in watching the film through their social media posts. The manner in which these Telugu stars openly lavished praises on a Bollywood film once again proved that Tollywood artists have no insecurity for actors and films from other languages.
While this collective commendation on Bollywood’s biggest sequel from our stars is receiving widespread appreciation from all quarters, Prakash Raj once again tried to make a controversy out of it with his foolish opinion. His recent post on X appeared to be a direct dig at Telugu actors for giving out a honest opinion of their experience on watching Dhurandhar 2.
Going into the matter, a social media user noted that four of South India’s biggest stars, namely Allu Arjun, Vijay Deverakonda, Jr NTR, and Mahesh Babu, had all praised Dhurandhar The Revenge and asked whether any Bollywood celebrity had commented on the film at all.
Prakash Raj immediately responded with a post which read ”Signs of Obligations are spreading South too.. #justasking.” He indirectly meant that Telugu stars are rallying behind the film just out of obligation. Though his post appeared like he is posing a question, it seems to be an indirect accusation.
Many feel that the remark is absolutely not necessary if not to rake up a controversy because Prakash Raj might have his own perspective for movies like Dhurandhar 2, but there is no need to question the intent of others for expressing their own opinion.
For some one like Prakash Raj who built an inimitable image with his flawless acting abilities and memorable characters, there is no point in damaging his reputation with controversies statements and remarks every now and then. This might be counterproductive for his own career.
If he continues to trigger more controversies, he might end up losing offers in big-ticket films and harm his own career. Recently, there were reports that Prakash Raj exited from Spirit after director Sandeep Reddy Vanga asked him to stay away from political controversies. However, there is no official confirmation so far on this gossip.
That Prakash Raj is a vocal critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is well known to everyone because the former frequently takes a swipe against the latter’s ideologies with informal and sharp statements. He should tone down his stance and concentrate on acting or else will pay the price.
