Bollywood star and veteran actor Paresh Raval has recently stunned his fans with his unorthodox approach to healing injuries. In an interview with The Lallantop, the famed Hera Pheri actor revealed that he drank his own ‘urine’ to help recover from a knee injury.
Paresh Raval shared that while shooting a scene with Rakesh Pandey for the film Ghatak in the late 90s which was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, he injured his knee on set while filming for a scene. Seeing him in pain, actors Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa rushed him to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, where doctors informed him that his leg was severely injured.
Raval said he was “petrified,” and feared that his acting career might be over, as such an injury could render him unable to walk.
“Veeru Devgan had come to visit when I was in Nanavati. When he got to know I was there, he came up to me and asked what happened,” Paresh said. “I told him about my leg injury.”
“He told me to drink my own urine first thing in the morning. All fighters do this. You will never face any problem just drink urine first thing in the morning. He also told me not to consume alcohol, mutton, or tobacco, and to stick to regular food,” Paresh added.
Paresh thought if he was going to follow it through, he would do it properly: “I decided I wouldn’t just gulp it down I would sip it like beer. I did it for 15 days, and when the X-ray reports came in, the doctor was surprised.”
The doctor saw a white lining on the X-ray of his injured knee, which indicated significant healing. Doctors told Paresh Raval that while an injury of this severity would typically take about 2 to 2.5 months to heal, he had recovered within just a month and a half
