Zee Real Heroes Awards 2024 ceremony – which celebrates and honours exceptional contributions of individuals in their respective fields – was held in Mumbai on January 14. The event was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and several distinguished guests including Amogh Lila Das, Ajay Devgn, Kartik Aaryan and Anupam Kher.

This year, Pankaj Tripathi was honoured with Mega Performer Of The Year award. In his acceptance speech, Pankaj said, “This is a great honour. I thank Zee for this. Yeh hai naye saal ka pehla award. It is indeed special to get it from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.”

Pankaj Tripathi is one of those rare actors who has the potential to make the viewers forget that they are watching a performance. Such is the portrayal of his characters that it’s almost like he’s living in that moment. In a nutshell, there is something about Pankaj that feels effortlessly impressive, and gives him an edge over others.

Whether he’s playing a politician [Main Atal Hoon], or a cop [Murder Mubarak Hoon], or paranormal investigator [Stree 2], Pankaj can pull off any role with ease. One look at him is enough to be convinced that he can slip into any character without making the viewers feel it is forced. Such is his versatility that he can play characters that are incredibly different, and also own them with complete grace. Another reason that stands out is his ability to use expressions, pauses and body language, and not dramatic blowups to leave an indelible impact on the viewers.

Pankaj may not have had a ‘filmy’ background, but with his consistent efforts he worked his way up, worked on his acting skills at the National School of Drama, and emerged as an actor who has a deep understanding of the nuances of acting. Not the one to rest on his past laurels, he’s happy to evolve and challenge himself with new roles, and embodies the true spirit of Zee Real Heroes Awards.
