The 2025 Oscars is clearly living up to the hype. Several celebrities – including – showed up to make their mark at Hollywood’s biggest night. The red carpet too was high on jaw-dropping and impeccable looks, and a few moments that managed to raise some eyebrows. This year’s ceremony is hosted by the hilarious Conan O’Brien. As expected, he’s making waves on social media. One video that caught everyone’s attention had him greeting in Hindi.
For the first time, Conan O’Brien spoke in Hindi and failed at it miserably. On stage, he said, “Namaskar. Nashte ke saath Oscar kar rahe hai aap log” (Greetings to the people of India, It’s morning there, so I hope you are having your breakfast with Oscars.” The video clip has gone viral on social media and netizens have drastic reactions to it. Many have mentioned that he is ‘butchering’ the language. Some have lauded him for his effort but mentioned that he shouldn’t do it ever again.
One of the comments on Conan O’Brien’s video read, “Conan O’Brien deserves an Oscar for best attempt at a foreign language! Good job, though the Hindi was definitely Hinding!” Another one joked, “Conan O’Brian butchered Hindi so badly, I turned into a nationalist.” One more comment read, “i will be processing Conan O’Brien’s hindi for a long, long, long time.”
