Food delivery platform has increased the platform fee it charges users by Rs 2.40 to Rs 14.90 per order, according to its app on Friday.The revised fee, set at Rs 14.90 on a pre-GST basis compared with Rs 12.50 earlier, has been implemented across all markets in India where the company operates, people familiar with the matter said, as cited by PTI. The last such increase was carried out in September last year.Zomato’s rival Swiggy currently charges a platform fee of Rs 14.99 per order, inclusive of GST. Meanwhile, Magicpin, the third-largest food delivery player, said it does not plan to raise its platform fee, currently Rs 14.20 per order, for the time being.“At a time when the food delivery ecosystem is navigating a tough phase with rising costs, we have consciously decided not to increase our platform fee to support our restaurant partners and keep food delivery accessible for customers,” said Anshoo Sharma, CEO & Founder of Magicpin, as cited by PTI.
