Natural Star Nani started his career as an assistant director but later ventured into acting and eventually into production. Interestingly, he tasted big hits in almost all his production ventures. Currently, he is associated with the project HIT 3, both as an actor and a producer. Srinidhi Shetty makes her film debut as a female lead in the Telugu film, and she opened up about how Nani presents himself on the film’s sets.
It’s common when you’re also a producer to take care of multiple things on set. But Nani’s case seems to be different. According to Srinidhi, Nani was never a producer on the sets. He always gave priority to being an actor.
“I never saw himself as a producer and he was always an actor. I never got that vibe also. But, Nani is an amazing producer who believes in magic, just not money,” she said.
When asked if Nani encountered a difference of opinion with the director on the sets as a producer, Nani has a realistic answer. Nani tried to explain that even though he is a producer, he will try to be the director’s assistant, in helping him deliver the vision he had with the film.
“I work as an assistant director to translate his vision on the screen. There were no creative differences. Even though, as a producer, I try to creatively get involved in the project, which I do for every film. So, there are no such differences,” said Nani.
Working both as an actor and a producer at the same time need a lot of brain switching. Nani is very clear of what he is aiming with his movie. Hence, he never encountered a situation where the actor in him clashes with the producer in him, either internally or externally with the director or anyone else on the sets.
Nani also scored a success as a producer recently, with the film Court. With HIT 3, he aims to continue the success streak. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, HIT 3 will release on May 1st.
