India cricketer , who won several hearts with his incredible century against Pakistan in the Champion’s Trophy, had to face an early exit during the recent India Vs New Zealand match. His wife Anushka Sharma was seen cheering him on from the stands. Virat was dismissed for just 11 runs off 14 balls after Glenn Phillips took a catch and left all fans heartbroken. Soon after, Anushka’s reaction went viral, and trolls held her responsible for Virat’s awful performance. However, many netizens have come forward to defend both Virat and Anushka.
One user wrote, “Anushka ko Stadium mein dekh kar hi Virat Kohli ka score pata chal gaya tha”. Another fan posted a video wherein Virat had scored a century and Anushka was present in the stadium. The user shared the video with a caption that read, “Those who are crying on Anushka’s presence when Virat plays. This is for you all”.

Much like millions of Virat’s fans, Anushka too was visibly stunned and exclaimed ‘Oh my God!’ Virat’s older brother Vikas Kohli too appeared in shock. Anushka looked effortlessly gorgeous in a blue and white striped shirt. Anushka was absent from the India vs Pakistan match, which was held in Dubai last Sunday. Virat was seen kissing his wedding ring after he scored a century. Later, Anushka took to her Instagram stories to share a heartfelt post featuring a photo of Virat in his Indian jersey. She added a heart emoji along and two folded hands to express her support.
Anushka has been away from the film industry since a long time and been spending time with her children, Vamika and Akaay. Her biographical film Chakda ‘Xpress, which is based on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, is yet to get released.
In 2016, Virat reacted to trolls who hated Anushka and blamed her for his performance. He said, “Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what I do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity”.
