The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued summons to the makers of the songs Tateeree and Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke following multiple media reports raising concerns over alleged obscenity and vulgarity in their content.
In the case of Tateeree, summons have been sent to singer and lyricist Badshah, along with director Mahi Sandhu and producer Hiten. They have been asked to appear before the commission on March 25 2026, at 12:30 pm, with all relevant documents. The notice also warns that failure to appear “may invite appropriate action as per law,” with references to the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
