Popular singer spoke his heart out about his friendship with superstar . The singer recalled a story about Salman, who called him up late at night and indicated that he might replace his song in a film. The song lyric had a reference to which Salman wanted Mika to remove. He said, ‘I changed the word ‘Katrina’ to ‘Jacqueline’’.
In an interview with The Lallantop, said that he respects Salman a lot and the two met for the first time in the 1990s. He revealed that others hung around and tried to enter his inner circle, but he was not intelligent enough to even ask for his number. Mika said, ‘He came to one of my shoots, whereas it should have been the other way around. We interacted, but I didn’t think to butter him up and ask for his phone number. I would have, had I been smart enough’.
Mika revealed that Himesh Reshammiya called him up for a song in Salman starrer Bodyguard. The singer continued saying, ‘I had already done the song ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ for him, but I thought that my voice was terrible in it. Salman Bhai loved it, and nobody wanted to disagree with him. In my excitement, I tweeted about it. Now, Salman Bhai usually likes talking on the phone at 2 am, and he gets very upset if you don’t answer his calls’.
Mika revealed that he was enjoying himself in Bali, when he received a call from Salman who sang a Hangover song for him. He continued saying, ‘I never accept jobs where I might be replaced. But here, it was Salman Khan himself who was replacing me. What was I going to do? I was so tense. He asked me if I liked his singing, and of course I said yes. But luckily, one of his nephews was with him.
