Last year, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding was one of the biggest topics in the world of entertainment. The wedding festivities started in early 2024 and the wedding happened in July. But it was just a one-day event. The functions went on for a few days in a row with attendance by many Indian and international celebrities. Even Indian PM Narendra Modi attended the reception ceremony. One celeb who was a part of the grand wedding was singer Mika Singh.
Several videos went viral last year in which Mika Singh was seen enjoying the wedding festivities and performing. In an interview, he talked about the wedding and the criticism it received. Singh told Pinkvilla, “Log kehte hai itna paisa uda diya. Agar ek shaadi se ek lakh logon ka ghar chal raha hai, toh yeh toh blessing hai! Chamchagiri nahi kar raha hu.”
Previously, there were reports that many celebrities were gifted a Rs 2 crore watch as a return gift. However, Mika didn’t get the watch. About the same, the Mauja Hi Mauja singer earlier told The Lallantop, “I went to perform at Anant Ambani’s wedding. He distributed a lot of money to everyone, even to me. But I am angry about one thing: I did not get the watch that all the other close people got.”
Meanwhile, Anant Ambani’s mother, Nita Ambani, later revealed why they had such grand ceremonies for his wedding. She told Bloomberg Television how every parent wants to provide the best for their children’s wedding. “I think it was a made-in-India brand that came out. I am happy that I was able to bring our Indian traditions, heritage, and culture to the centre stage,” Nita said.
