Not every collaboration is a smooth process. Sometimes, differences occur between the cast, directors, and producers. Something similar happened between Mika Singh when he worked as the producer of the web show Dangerous, which stars Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. In an interview, the singer said how it was supposed to be a simple project but ended up becoming an expensive one.
In an interview, Mika Singh highlighted how Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu are now “out of work.”. He said, “Why do you think they’re out of work now? God is watching everything. I liked Karan a lot and wanted to produce a low-budget film—around ₹4 crore.” Singh explained how he wanted another actress as the lead but Bipasha Basu wanted to be a part of it. The shooting happened in London and the project went from a budget of Rs 4 crore to Rs 14 crore.
Further in the interview with Pinkvilla, Mika Singh revealed how more problems started occurring when the shooting started. “The drama she created made me regret stepping into production. There were romantic scenes in the script, including kissing sequences, which were always part of the plan. But suddenly, she started throwing tantrums, saying she wouldn’t do this or that,” the Heer Toh Badi Sad Hai singer revealed.
Mika revealed how the post-production process also became a challenge as the dubbing process allegedly got dragged. “One day, Bipasha had a sore throat. The next, Karan was unwell. There was always some excuse.” In the same interview, he called out the industry’s hypocrisy and how some actors don’t respect independent producers.
“These out-of-work actresses complain about bad luck, but they should learn to respect producers who bring them opportunities. They are your god. They’d rather take minuscule roles in a Dharma film but won’t show the same respect to independent producers, despite getting paid just as much. “I have zero attitude. Recently, I flew to Bengaluru to sing for Devi Sri Prasad in Pushpa. If Pritam calls me at 6 AM to record a song, I’ll do it. That’s why I’m where I am. Success doesn’t come overnight—you have to love your work, the singer concluded.
