Bollywood is back with an entertaining rom-com , now playing in the theatres (release date February 21). The film is directed by , who has earlier given us films like Khel Khel Mein, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Happy Phir Se Bhag Jayegi amongst others. The film stars in a lead role and after Danger Lanka in , he is back in a lover boy avatar, reminding one of his characters in Two States, Ki And Ka and Mubarakan. The interesting bit about the story is that the film has two heroines opposite him, playing his past wife – and future wife – .

So when we met recently on the latest episode of , we couldn’t help but ask her how was the bonding between the two divas on the set. When there are two or more actresses involved, we often hear stories about the vibe on the set, their bonding with each other off the camera and these range from good, bad and ugly. And in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, the two were lit playing each other’s arch enemies, vying for the love and attention of one man. So how were things on the sets of this latest Bollywood movie?

Bhumi reveals, “As women, all of us have a lot of shared experiences, so there is a lot of empathy and compassion for where we are in our independent journeys and the struggle that all of us go through to get where we are. And Rakul is my sister, she is my friend, humne bohot masti ki hai. The comedy in the film shined through since we both were very secure in the characters we were given. We were sure that if we support each other it is will only going to be better for the film.”

Further talking about her off screen bond with , Bhumi shares, “I have known her since years now and we have been friends… yeh jo idea hai na ki do aurtein dost nahin ho sakti, yeh bohot saalon pehle kisi insecure aadmi ne he shuru ki hogi yeh aapne aur humne shuru nahi ki hai yeh kahaniyaan. (This idea that two actresses cannot be friends must have been the brainchild of an insecure man, this is not something that women like you and me have started).

Bhumi and Rakul both play women who are in love with the same man. They are in a game of one up womanship throughout the film where the prize is Ankur Chaddha ( character). The reviews of the film are out and you can read my and most popular ones have noted the amazing chemistry between the two women in their face off scenes. Mere Husband Ki Biwi is a complete family entertainer, now playing in theatres near you.
