Former Prime Minister of India, , passed away at the age of 92. As per reports, he was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi this evening where he breathed his last. The hospital reportedly shared the statement announcing his demise. The statement read that he was being treated for age-related medical condition and had a sudden loss of consciousness. Despite all efforts, the doctors could not revive him and was declared dead at 9.51. Manmohan Singh remained to be a prolific name that helped changed the scene of Indian economy and politics. A film was made titled The Accidental Prime Minister that had playing the role of Manmohan Singh. It was based on memoir penned by Sanjaya Baru.
During the promotions of , had shared why it was difficult and challenging for him to play Manmohan Singh on screen. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Anupam Kher had stated that it was one of the most difficult roles he had essayed so far. Describing why, he was quoted saying that the political icon was not very expressive as never anyone saw him laughing or being angry. Anupam Kher’s quote read, “Dr. Manmohan Singh is not a very expressive person. You have never seen him laughing loudly. You have never seen him angry. His face is the same, whether he is expressing hurt, anger, disgust, pleasure or happiness. That means I had to internalise the whole thing.”
