GV Prakash Kumar’s Kingston is gearing up for a grand release on March 7. The film marks the composer-actor’s debut as a producer. This ambitious project, a collaboration between Parallel Universe Pictures and Zee Studios, is a big-screen movie made with high-end standards.

In his latest interview, GV suggests that the experience offered by Kingston is going to be akin to the grand spectacles of Baahubali and the spiritual depth of Kantara.

Set in a cursed coastal village, Kingston tells the tale of a fisherman, played by GV Prakash himself, who dares to challenge the mysterious forces that keep villagers from venturing into the sea. “This venture leads my character into an underwater world filled with zombies and spirits. I underwent rigorous training for the underwater sequences, holding my breath for three minutes at a time,” GV says, suggesting that complex action choreography and excellent visuals by Gokul Benoy are among the major assets of Kingston.

Kingston, directed by Kamal Prakash, required innovative shooting techniques, including miniature sets and filming from separate boats. After all, to capture the vastness of the ocean, so much had to be ensured. GV Prakash believes the film’s technical achievements will surprise even Hollywood.

Kingston is not just an action-packed spectacle; it’s a narrative rooted in Indian folklore. “We aim to bring the stories of grandmothers and ancestors to life,” GV suggests.

The film’s release on March 7th in both Telugu is ensured by Ganga Entertainments’ Maheswara Reddy Mooli.
