The pre-release event of GV Prakash starrer Kingston buzzed with praises for India’s first sea-based fantasy adventure. The film, set to release on March 7th, was lauded by the speakers at the event for its ambitious visuals and unique storyline.
Actor Nithiin, the chief guest, expressed his admiration for the film’s fantastic visuals, congratulating director Kamal Prakash on his debut. Nithiin further spoke of the film’s potential for giving a “first-of-its-kind” and novel experience. He also extended his best wishes to Maheswara Reddy of Ganga Entertainments, for the film’s Telugu release.
GV Prakash Kumar, making his debut as a producer with Kingston, revealed that the film is a “Dream come true,” inspired by the format of Hollywood multi-verse movies. “Kingston is a proper big-screen film with ambition written all over it,” he asserted, raising expectations from the film’s scale and scope. He also revealed that while Kingston is primarily an adventure, it also features a “cute love story” and a non-linear narrative that moves “back and forth.”
Actress Divyabharathi praised GV Prakash’s supportive nature, noting his encouragement of new talents. She described Kingston as more than just a movie, but an “experience” that transports the audience to a different world.
The film’s visual prowess was a consistent theme throughout the speeches. Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers described the visuals as “Mind-blowing for its budget” The collaborative efforts of Zee Studios and Parallel Universe Pictures came in for praise from Mythri Distributor Sashidhar Reddy.
Ganga Entertainments bought the Telugu release rights because producer Maheswara Reddy was amazed by the content. The event was also attended by directors Venky Atluri and Venky Kudumula.
