‘s courtroom drama is riding high on success and the film had a great Sunday. As per reports, Kesari Chapter 2 earned over Rs 12 crore in India. Box office tracking portal Sacnilk shared the early estimates for Sunday and Akshay’s film has collected Rs 12.25 crores and its weekend total is Rs 29.75 crores.
Akshay’s film is racing towards Rs 50 crore mark. The film’s worldwide gross was Rs 30 crores and with Sunday’s collection, the film crossed Rs 42-43 crores worldwide. Talking about the overall occupancy of Keasri Chapter 2, the morning shows occupancy was 17.28%, the afternoon shows occupancy was 36.60% and evening shows occupancy was 43.88% while night shows occupancy was 31.16%. Kesari 2 had a tough competition with Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s Jaat was one of the most anticipated releases of the year. As per the latest update on Sacnilk.com, the film has shown growth on its third day of release and has collected Rs 25 crore overall. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film collected Rs 10 crore on Saturday. The film faced stiff competition from Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly. Talking about its Hindi occupancy on Saturday was 13.45% and for evening shows were at 16.85%, while for afternoon shows it was 15.97% and 7.53% for morning ones. The film stars Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
Salman Khan’s action-thriller Sikandar struggled to maintain momentum after the Eid holiday. According to Sacnilk, Sikandar collected Rs 17.81 crore at the box office on its day 3 and its total was around Rs 72.81 crore. Its worldwide collection stands at Rs 95 crore. Sikandar is set to draw level with Empuraan. The action thriller is directed by AR Murugadoss and features Salman, Sathyaraj, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in key roles.
