Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious mythological drama Kannappa is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited Pan-India films in recent times. The latest update is that the film has locked a massive runtime of 3 hours and 10 minutes, indicating a grand and detailed narrative.
This locked runtime of over 3 hours follows the recent trend of epic-length Pan-India films. Biggies like RRR (3 hr 2 min), Animal (3 hr 21 min), Pushpa (3 hr), and even Leo, Devara, and Salaar ran for close to or over 3 hours. This format seems to work well when the storytelling is gripping and the content is emotionally rich.
With its mythological backdrop, powerful cast, and high production values, Kannappa is expected to be a visual and emotional spectacle. The team is reportedly confident about the length, believing that the story justifies the runtime. If done right, Kannappa could well join the list of Pan-India blockbusters that left audiences spellbound for over 180 minutes.
The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Sarathkumar, Kajal Agarwal, and Preity Mukhundhan. The presence of such big names has naturally added curiosity around the film. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa brings together an impressive team, with Vishnu Manchu not only playing the lead role but also penning the script. Mohan Babu is producing the film under the 24 Frames Factory banner. Music is composed by Stephen Devassy, while Sheldon Chau handles the cinematography
