Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar were embroiled in a legal battle for over five years, with both filing defamation suits against each other. However, there has been a big development in the case. Both Kangana and Javed have resolved their differences, and the actress even dropped a happy photo with the veteran lyricist to signal that all is well between them.

On her Instagram page, Kangana Ranaut posted a story with Javed Akhtar. The Emergency actress wrote, “Today Javed ji and I have resolved our legal matter (defamation case) through mediation, in the mediation Javed ji has been very kind and gracious, he also ‘ agreed to write songs for my next directorial.”

The legal battle between the actress and the lyricist started in 2020 following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Back then, Kangana made several claims, one of them being how Javed asked her to apologise for filing her 2016 lawsuit against Hrithik Roshan. The Queen star said in a TV interview, “Once Javed Akhtar called me to his house and told me Rakesh Roshan (father of Hrithik Roshan) and his family are very big people. If you don’t apologise to them, you will have nowhere to go. They will put you in jail, and eventually, the only path would be that of destruction… you will commit suicide. These were his words. He shouted and yelled at me. I was shaking in his house.”

After Kangana Ranaut’s statements, Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against her and told the court, “Whatever Kangana said in the interview is a lie and nothing but a lie. I had told her about the agenda of the meeting on the call. Didn’t call her to discuss the weather, political situation, or America election in 2016.”

Javed filed a defamation case against Kangana which dragged on for years. In court, Javed said, “Whatever Kangana said in the interview is a lie and nothing but a lie.”
