Mizuki Itagaki, the popular Japanese actor and a former model was found dead in Tokyo on April17th. The 24 year old artist was reportedly missing since January 2025 and was nowhere to be found.

Itagaki’s family confirmed this news in a social media post on April 17th 2025, they wrote ‘We’re very sorry to share that actor Itagaki Mizuki has passed away due to an unfortunate incident. To all the fans who supported him with so much warmth, and to everyone who worked with him, we’re truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts’

Mizuki Itagaki was rising sensation in Japan and even was a former member of the idol boy band M!LK, known for his work in movies like Fake Motion, The Fool’s Kiss, etc., and enjoyed a loyal and massive fan following. The reason of his death is still being kept under the wraps but according to some reports they state that Itagaki was struggling mentally for the past few months and had health issues since the last year.

The family says that a police search was initiated, and they were recently contacted from Tokyo regarding the possibility of a body being found. “We’re really sorry for not being able to share this news sooner with everyone who had been worried about him,” they added “Mizuki always worked hard with the hope of bringing smiles and joy to everyone through his acting. He had just started taking steps toward returning to work, so it’s heartbreaking that his life ended like this something even he probably never expected.”

The letter then ended with a humble apology from the family to the fans for not being able to bid adieu to their beloved artist.
