Siddhu Jonnalagadda is one of the successful actors in Telugu cinema. The definition of success for his career is that he once acted in a small role in the direction of Bommarillu Bhaskar in Orange. Now, Bhaskar, experiencing flops, is hoping for success with Jack, starring Siddhu in the main lead. It defines how Siddhu grew over the years. The DJ Tillu franchise cemented his position in the industry. With Jack, he is set to entertain the audience again, but he also faces a challenge.
Looking at Jack’s trailer, it is clear that Siddhu tried his best to distance himself from the Tillu hangover. The audience loved watching Siddhu as Tillu. The mannerisms, dialogue delivery, body language, and everything about Tillu are unique enough to catch everyone’s attention. However, the problem is that Tillu became a household character, and people find it tough to imagine Siddhu in any other character. Whatever Siddhu does, it still reminds us of Tillu, which is the case with Jack.
Siddhu played a role in Jack that appealed to the urban audiences more. He attempted a stylish version of Tillu, but the body language, mannerisms, and everything else lack uniqueness. It is probably unfair to judge the actor based on the trailer, but waiting for the full movie is more important.
Siddhu will have to shift the focus to different genres to help the audiences detach from the Tillu character. However, he attempts a different film, and if it still falls under the genre that Tillu belongs to, it will be a problem for Siddhu to up his game.
If an actor becomes successful and wants to maintain it, he has to be versatile. Unless that happens, people will keep thinking that the actors take them for granted by repeatedly giving them the same kind of performance.
