In a disappointing turn of events, the 55th match of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, was abandoned due to rain, resulting in SRH’s elimination from the tournament.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, SRH put in a disciplined performance with the ball. Captain Pat Cummins led from the front, claiming 3 wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs. Jaydev Unadkat (1/13) and Harshal Patel (1/36) supported well, while young Eshan Malinga also picked up a key wicket of Ashutosh Sharma.
Delhi struggled to find momentum, finishing at 133/7 in their 20 overs. KL Rahul scored 10, while captain Axar Patel contributed 6. Tristan Stubbs top-scored with an unbeaten 41 off 36 balls, and Ashutosh Sharma chipped in with a quick 41.

SRH were set to chase a modest target, but persistent rain prevented any further play. With no result possible, both teams shared a point each. However, the washout ended SRH’s playoff hopes, knocking them out of IPL 2025.
