Musical Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is usually very conservative when it comes to making public appearances for film promotional events. Very rarely to be stepping out in the public to promote his musical compositions for films.
But for a change, Ilaiyaraaja arrived in Hyderabad last night for the teaser launch event of his upcoming Telugu film Shashtipurthi. He came to Hyderabad and partook in the event to support and encourage the young actors and crew associated with the project.
Raja revealed that he desired to come and promote this film in order to show his support to the young cast that worked on the same. “The team that worked on this film is young and extremely talented. You have been enjoying my music for many years, and you will continue to do so in the future as well, including this film.”
This event was even attended by Oscar award, winning music, composer, M.M. Keeravani, who had written the lyrics for Edo Ededo song in the album. He said this song is a depiction of the core plot of the film, and it also expresses the kind of admiration that he has for Ilaiyaraaja.
Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad, who is playing a crucial role in this film stated that he used to refer to Ilaiyaraaja as Swami. He said he feels great to be working with Ilaiyaraaja after all these years again for this film Shashtipurthi.
The film has youngsters Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh in the lead roles. Legendary Ladies Tailer combination of Rajendra Prasad and Archana are playing other important roles in the same.
The film is directed by Pavan Prabha and produced by Rupesh Kumar Chowdary under MAA AAI Productions. The release date will be announced soon.
