Priyanka Chopra has always been a global fashion icon, effortlessly blending elegance with comfort. From red carpets to everyday street style, the actor has repeatedly set fashion goals.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, Chopra shared her most valuable fashion lesson: trusting her instinct and prioritising comfort over trends.
Speaking about her approach to style, Chopra revealed: “I think the best piece of fashion advice I’ve ever been given is to trust my instinct. What I’ve learned about style over the years is to not overthink it—like your first instinct with what you’re gravitating towards is probably what you’re going to feel most comfortable in. And if you’re comfortable, I think you end up feeling your best.”
This philosophy has guided her through years of public appearances, magazine covers, and international events. Rather than following fleeting trends, the actress believes that confidence and comfort are the real markers of great style.
While with her extravagant gowns at the Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival, her personal style has evolved into something more relaxed, she says. “My personal style has really, really evolved. I used to actually get dressed a lot more in my personal life when I first started in my career, and now, I think—I don’t know—I can’t be bothered. My personal life has really pivoted to comfortable chic.”
However, that doesn’t mean she has let go of her love for luxury. She admits: “I love nice things, so I love luxury, don’t get me wrong, but I have to be comfortable and functional as well.”
For Chopra, fashion isn’t just about looking good—it’s about telling a story. She sees clothing as an extension of her personality and emotions.
“What we wear matters because I think it’s an extension of expressing yourself. Without words, being able to express who you are, how you’re feeling, how you want the world to perceive you—I think it’s like an extra layer of power almost.”
Each day, she embraces a new version of herself through her outfits:
“When I wake up in the morning and pick what I’m going to wear, I kind of think about who this girl is today. Like, we change every single day, and we’re different people, and I think clothes sort of help me express that.”
Chopra’s advice serves as a reminder that true style isn’t about blindly following trends—it’s about embracing individuality, comfort, and confidence. Whether it’s a high-fashion couture gown or a cosy airport look, her approach is all about authenticity.
