Netflix had recently released the trailer of its upcoming series – The Royals. The web series features many well-established and accomplished actors in the star cast. and play the leads. It is a modern day rom-com that revolves around the life of ‘prince’ Aviraaj Singh and a self-made CEO Sophia Kanmani Shekhar. The supporting star cast boosts of stellar performers like Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Alyy Khan, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat and others. At the trailer launch, Sakshi Tanwar spoke about her character and the challenges she played in essaying the role of a royal in the series.
, who is known for TV serials like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and others, has taken up a challenging role. She plays a queen in the web series. The actress is majorly known for playing simple girl from humble background-like characters. It would be for the first time that she is would be seen as a royal. At the event, she spoke about the same and said, “It wasn’t easy at all because I for the longest have played characters that have been on the other side of the table, so I have always been an Aam Kumari and this was for the first time that I got to see this life, I have not even seen this life in real, forget about experiencing it.”
The actress mentioned that she comes from a very basic background and has played characters that are more in-sync with her real-life, thus not needing much preparations. She recalled that when she received a call for The Royals, she thought that it could not be true as she has never played a character like that. She thanked the makers for making her feel like a ‘Rani’.
