Filmmaker is currently in the news as he is facing a legal trouble. As per the reports, Andhra Pradesh Police is on the hunt for Ram Gopal Varma after a few cases got lodged against him. If reports are to be believed, Ram Gopal Varma has got into a legal trouble due to a one year old tweet made by him. Reports suggest that the filmmaker is absconding for the past few days and police is looking for him. Reports also state that his mobile phone remains switched off. However, he released a video stating that he is absconding but is busy with work commitments.
The controversy stems for a social media post made by in which allegedly a morphed picture of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister , Deputy Chief Minister , and their family members was shared showing them in an “indecent” manner, as reported by India Today. The post was reportedly shared a year ago but it is now that the cases have been registered against him. In the video that has gone viral in , Ram Gopal Varma has addressed the controversy and said, “Almost a year ago, I posted a tweet, which is now the basis of the allegations against me. Four different cases have been registered in four different locations, claiming that my tweet hurt their sentiments.”
He further stated that the individuals mentioned in the tweet have raised no objection but there are ‘unknown people’ who found his post offensive and lodged complaint. He went on to add that he showcased his willingness to appear for the investigation, however, his film’s shooting schedule is restraining him from doing so. He also demanded to reschedule. “They are showing urgency as if they aim to resolve the case within a week,” he reportedly said.
