Powerstar and Dy CM of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan’s forthcoming movie ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’ makes special treat for his fans for a reason because for PK it is a rare film appearance since his entry into active politics. The film evoked a strong interest from film distributors and OTT platforms.
The news coming from the USA claims the film made Rs 40,500 dollars as part of the premieres-pre sales in North America region (319 shows). This seems to be a great start from the Cinemark chain contributing a major share of 35,000 US dollars. Full-fledged bookings are expected to open by next Tuesday. Canada bookings are yet to open.
This doesn’t include cinelounge Fremont 3,000 dollars approx from fan shows so it’s technically 43,500 dollars.
The Powerstar commands unparalleled fan base in the Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Industry pundits predict that the film Hari Hara Veera Mallu would go beyond cinema and might turn into a cultural event because of the actor’s first venture after foraying into public service. The reason why film distributors see his films as safe bets with minimum promotions is because of his burgeoning popularity as a leader.
The film is set against ancient backdrop of a warrior, a rebellion with undisputed valour. It also blends with Kalyan’s revolutionary political image with the mass cinema aesthetics which made the film all the more interesting. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nora Fatehi, Sonakshi Sinha. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi, the film will hit theatres on June 12 worldwide.
