Earlier in the day, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., with Chief Justice John Roberts administering the oath. Before Trump’s swearing-in, JD Vance was sworn in as the 50th Vice President of the United States.
Following his oath, Trump proclaimed the beginning of America’s “golden age” and declared the day as ‘Liberation Day’ for the nation. He also addressed the issue of inflation and reiterated his previous slogan, ‘drill baby drill,’ reaffirming his commitment to increasing oil drilling.
“The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill,” Trump said, ANI reported.
