He was the biggest star in the 1990s with his films like and many more turned out to be blockbuster hits. Govinda had strong support of his wife Sunita who used to manage his finances and work. In one of the latest interviews, Sunita spoke at length about the challenges she faced as his manager and how he would get cheated by producers.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, wife Sunita revealed that she used to be his manager and she has seen people not giving him money. Him being him, he would say let it go as ‘maybe his show wasn’t a success’. But, Sunita shared that she would retaliate and rather get the producers to pay the money they owe her husband. She would tell Govinda, “Why so? ‘You danced! Didn’t you? You worked hard! Woh tumhe bewakoof bana raha hai, mujhe pata chal raha hai’ (He’s fooling you, and I’m aware of it).”

Sunita also shared that the producers would sometimes take advantage of Govinda’s good nature. “Chichi bhaiya, tickets didn’t get sold. I’ll give you your Rs 20-25 lakh later,” they would say. But Sunita wouldn’t have any of it. She would call them out, saying, “Kisko ullu bana raha hai? (Who are you trying to fool?) I was there, standing and seeing, I saw the show was full house,” she explained how she would handle the situation.

Govinda last appeared in the film Rangeela Raja in 2019. Now, the actor has ventured into politics. Recently, the actor was in news as he accidentally shot and injured his foot with his licensed revolve.
