Actor had a prolific career in Bollywood. He ruled box office and hearts of the audience for ages and still does. and many more movies became box office hits thanks to Govinda. However, his daughter Tina, did not meet the same success as an actor. She appeared only in a few films like Second Hand Husband and more but could not establish herself as a successful actress. In a recent interview, Govinda’s wife Sunita opened up on the struggles and challenges faced by her daughter.
In an interview with section of Hindi Rush, wife Sunita gave her opinion on nepotism and shared that her daughter wants to work but gets overlooked by the industry. She shared that if Tin gets a good opportunity then why won’t she pick it up? She called out industry people and said that nepotism needs to stop. She said, “Aap ek hi group mein sabko…wohi group mein kaam hota hai. Baahar bhi toh dekho, log aur bhi baithe hain. Abhi bhi she is open to work. Kaam milega, woh karegi, usko shauk bhi hai bohot kaam karne ka. (Only a select group of star kids get work. Look outside, there are others too. Tina is open to work. If she gets work, she will do it. She is also very fond of working)”.
In recent times, Govinda’s wife has been speaking about his journey and much more through interviews. In the same interview, Sunita shared that Govinda rejected the role of Chunnilal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas that had in the lead. She questioned why would he play Chunnilal when he is such a big star. She shared that she was glad that he did not take up the role as ‘why would he play a second lead?’ She was quoted saying, “He was a top star during the ‘80s, ’90s, and 2000s. Why would you offer a role like that to him. He handled it very well; I wouldn’t have been as kind.”
