While speaking to Hindi Rush, Sunita revealed that she and had made the decision to live in separate homes. She also explained that she has celebrating her birthday alone for over a decade now. Amid divorce rumours, the couple’s lawyer and family friend Lalit Bindal confirmed that they had filed for divorce six months back. Bindal had said in an interview with India Today, “We also travelled to Nepal during the New Year and performed puja together at Pashupati Nath Mandir. Everything is fine between them now. Such things keep happening between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together.”

Bindal also added how the social media has been using Sunita’s statements to draw their own conclusions.
