The controversy has been grabbing headlines for the past few days. From social media outrage to FIRs to the Supreme Court case, the matter has escalated in the recent past. For the unversed, Ranveer went as a guest judge for an episode of India’s Got Talent, and made a ‘sex with parents’ joke, which didn’t go down well with many. Since then, a lot of people, including celebrities, have been slamming Ranveer for his ‘disturbing’ question. Among the many videos that have gone viral is a clip in which Aamir Khan shares his reaction to such kind of content.
In the viral video, calls such jokes “unfunny” and how he doesn’t laugh while listening to abuses. The Laal Singh Chaddha actor said, “When Karan (Johar) and Arjun (Kapoor) told me what they said and did as part of the ‘roast’, I felt it was very violent event. I completely believe in freedom of speech and no issues there. Violence is not always physical, it can be emotional, it can be verbal. Jab aap kisi ko insult karte ho to aap violence perpetuate kar rahe ho.”
“Everybody has the right to air their opinions. In my opinion, it was not funny. I am not a kid that I will laugh listening to abuses. I am way past that age. I scolded both Karan and Arjun, who are my friends, and told them that I do not find it funny at all. If you want to impress me, try making me laugh without insulting anyone. I will enjoy it then. I am not talking about AIB, but about Arjun, Karan and other actors at the event…I think as a creative person, it is my responsibility to search for the good in people,” the superstar added.
Further, Aamir Khan said that he is not aware if the comedians have broken the law, but he has seen online ‘lynching’ happening to them. “I do not believe in that either. If I do not like something you have done, I should convey it to you strongly and that is where it ends. Who am I to tell you how you should conduct yourself?,” Khan said. Many believe this is Aamir’s reaction to Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia’s India’s Got Latent controversy.
This isn’t the latest video and reaction to Ranveer and Samay’s controversy. The video was recorded in 2015 at the Youth for Governance event. This was Aamir’s reaction to the multiple FIRs filed against All India Bakc**d aka AIB team members for their roast show, which featured Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, and Arjun Kapoor.
