is all geared up for the highly-anticipated release of her movie this week, which also marks her debut as a director. In the political drama, Ranaut takes on the challenging role of former PM Indira Gandhi. BollywoodLife spoke to the Ranaut about the movie and her journey into filmmaking. During the chat, Ranaut was asked if she would consider directing the Khans——for a film. Interestingly, the actress responded positively, and was happy to share her enthusiasm for the idea.
In an exclusive interaction with to BollywoodLife’s Pooja Darade, was asked about her previous statement wherein she had expressed interest in directing the Khans. On being asked if she’d really like to do it, Ranaut replied, “I was asked a question that ‘would you like to direct Khans?’ I said, ‘why not?’. If there is a script and if there is a scope for that, I would love to. I personally feel that they have so much of calibre, but are kind of stuck in those kind of roles which they’ve been doing (so long). So, it will be good to work with them.”
Kangana Ranaut shares a cordial relationship with , Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. Recently, the actress also visited Bigg Boss 18 to promote her film Emergency. A few weeks ago, she took to her Instagram page to praise SRK’s son Aryan Khan for pursuing a career as a director in the film industry, as opposed to several star kids who prefer to act in movies. It’ll be interesting to see how the Khans react to Ranaut’s interest in working with them.
Emergency isn’t just Ranaut’s directorial debut but also a film that she has produced. The political drama boasts an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhry. The film will hit theatres on January 17, 2025. It was originally slated for September 6 release last year. However, the film was delayed due to pending CBFC certification. After the makers adhered to the cuts requested by the CBFC, the film will finally release in theatres this month.
