With the sudden postponement of Kingdom and Thammudu, the industry is surprised by the silence regarding Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara. As time passes, more uncertainty looms over its release, leaving the mega fans anxious.
After Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari re-release, the expectations are sky-high for Vishwambhara, touted as Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next grand fantasy entertainer. However, despite the early buzz, the production seems to have hit a rough patch. With no follow-up promotion and an increasingly unclear release date, Mega fans are beginning to worry.
The film was planned for release during Sankranthi 2025, but then it was postponed to May. Later, it was scheduled for July 24th to follow Indra’s legacy. But sources close to both UV Creations and the Mega camp now suggest that the July release is unlikely. If it slips past that, August is also ruled out, especially with biggies like War 2 and Coolie lining up for release around the same time.
Both War 2 and Coolie are carrying enormous hype. Team Vishwambhara does not want a clash in August as Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was impacted earlier when it clashed with War. Nithiin’s Thammudu is already being prepared for July 24th, indicating that Vishwambhara is no longer in the race.
Industry insiders whisper that the heavy VFX work might be one cause of Vishwambhara’s delay. However, there’s also talk of pending song shoots—including a significant number—and the absence of re-recording work so far. All of these are indicators that post-production is lagging behind schedule.
However, in all possible cases, Vishwambhara may be prepared for a release in September or even for Dusshera.
