Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar starrer Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is one of the most loved TV serials. The show came in 2011 and made everyone fall in love with the matured love story of Ram and Priya. This story touched the hearts of the audience and it was a treat to see these two on-screens. The show also had an amazing TRP and we saw even today, it is being loved. The show was in the news when it was on-air because of the bold scene they had. This is the first TV serial where we saw a kissing scene shown on-screens. Ram Kapoor and Sakshi performed this bold scene and it began a big controversy.
The audience then did not expect this kind of boldness and they did not accept it as well. People trolled the producer, for showing such scenes. They trolled the actors as well but most of the negativity came up for Ektaa Kapoor. Now, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ram Kapoor spoke about this 17 minute bold scene with Sakshi.
He said he was hesitant about the scene and believed that it will affect the viewership of the show. He said that it was Ekta who was sure and wanted the scene to happen. He said, “I told Ekta, ‘Are you sure? Ye television mein pehle kabhi hua nahi hai, it was the first kiss of television, which is a big thing. And three generations watch (the show) together… but Ekta was very confident ki wo karna hai…. I said, okay, I’ll first get a go-ahead from my wife… Fir maine Sakshi ko bola ki look, I will handle Ekta. If you have a problem, tell me.”
He then took his wife, Gautami Kapoor’s permission and then Sakshi’s father spoke him. Her father said that he trusts and even Sakshi showed the trust in him. He shared, “Sakshi’s father said the most amazing thing to me… I can never think of anything with my co-stars… Sakshi’s father called me and said ki ‘Ram, tu hai, toh sab theek hai.’ They trusted me… so we went ahead and did it… it took two nights… Ekta suffered the consequences later.”
Looks like these views did not go well with Ekta. She took to Instagram stories and shared a cryptic note. She wrote, “Unprofessional actors giving interviews about my shows shud shut up! False information N skewed stories. Can only last till. I talk’…… but there is dignity in silence.”
Is this note directed at Ram Kapoor or someone else?
