Casting Couch is one of the major concerns in the film industry. The MeToo movement and Hema Committee incidents in Kerala bring such horrific incidents to light that happen in the film industry.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Sheikh, who was popular for her role in Dangal, opened up on the casting couch incidents that she faced down the South and in Hyderabad.

In a recent podcast, Fatima said that in every field of work, one would meet good people and bad people. She stated that some people use their power and exploit others.

Revealing one of the casting couch incidents she faced, “Once, someone told me that casting process was going on for a South Indian film and asked me to send by profiles. I did. He then asked me whether I would be ready for everything. I told him that I would work hard and do whatever was required for the role. He was repeatedly asking the same question and I repeatedly played dumb. I was irritated but I also wanted to know if he says it openly. After one point, he got irritated and left me.”

Speaking about the incident she faced in Hyderabad, Fatima said, “There is a belief among us that if we do well in the South, we will later get good offers in Bollywood. In another incident, I was in Hyderabad once. There are many small producers there. Those producers would say it openly but in a strange way.”

Fatima then stated that not everyone is like that but unfortunately, some actors and actresses get abused sometimes in the hands of people who abuse their power.
